Bayside Argonauts Football celebrated it’s 25 year anniversary in 2009 with 100 registered junior players competing in U7’s, U9’s, U10’s and U12’s.. Our juniors are set to double in 2010. Home ground Shipston Reserve ( Google Map click here ) surrounded by Cheltenham Public Golf Course provides an electric football environment. Bayside City Council has completed a major upgrade at Shipston Reserve in Dec 2009. A fully automated irrigation system and 55000 liter water tank using both recycled and mains water were installed. This will vastly improve the playing surface and insure Bayside Argonauts can continue to grow in the years to come. Incorporating Bayside Football Academy the Club offers members to take their football ambitions to the next level. The expertise of the Academy’s coaching staff will be a great asset in providing all our members especially juniors, professional training structure and skill development. Major Changes for 2010: Super League abolished – 6 metro zones instead of 4 – Sub Junior Small Sided Football consists of U7 (Intra Club), U9 play 7 a side, U11 play 9 a side half pitch, U9’s & U11’s ( FFV fixture with U11 having points & table). Bayside Argonauts compete in South East Zone ( all Clubs in Bayside, Kingston & Glen Eira Council ). Proposed 2010 teams which have a mixture of Academy and Club players. Players highlighted in red are likely to return to their clubs from last year. If you’re considering switching Clubs this year there are places still available in all grades. If registrations exceed vacancies in proposed teams, additional teams will be established. Maximum players in squads: U9 – 10 players, U11 – 12 players, U12’s and above – 15 players. Players turning 8 this year play U9 Joeys and players turning 9 play U9 Kangaroos. Players turning 10 this year play U11 joeys and players turning 11 play U11 Kangaroos. Last years U12 E team have moved up to U13C this year. U18’s will be training together with the reserves allowing transition to seniors with selected players given the opportunity to play for the Reserves & Seniors ( Provisional 2) throughout the season.

Players born 2001-2006 (beginners) can register in our non competitive Intra Club Small Sided Football Program run by our Academy with a choice of Saturday or Sunday morning 9am & 10am. Programs runs all year during school term.

Players born 2003,2002,2001 intermediate-advanced can register for U9’ Joeys & Kangaroos who compete in the FFV South East League Fixture.. This is a 16 round home & away season with match day on Saturday morning and training once a week. Players turning 8 or below in 2010 play Joeys and players turning 9 Kangaroos. U9’s play 7 a side on a 40×30 meter pitch with 3×2 meter goals. Fees are $250.- which includes a Club top and end of season trophy presentation. Players born 2000, 1999 intermediate – advanced can register for U11 Joeys & Kangaroos who compete in the FFV South East League Fixture.. This is a 16 round home & away season with match day on Saturday morning and training once a week. Players turning 10 in 2010 play Joeys and players turning 11 Kangaroos. U11’s play 9 a side on half senior pitch with 5×2 meter goals. Fees are $250.- which includes a Club top and of season trophy presentation. Players born 1998 intermediate – advanced can register for U12b who compete in the FFV South East League Fixture.. This is a 16 round home & away season with match day on Sunday morning 10.10am and training twice a week. U12’s play 11 a side on full pitch. Players born 1997 intermediate – advanced can register for U13c who compete in the FFV South East League Fixture.. This is a 16 round home & away season with match day on Sunday morning 11.15am and training twice a week. U13’s play 11 a side on full pitch. Fees are $250.- which includes a Club top and end of season trophy presentation. Shorts & socks are $25.- Register now as places are limited. Players born 1994,1993 intermediate – advanced can register for U18b who compete in the FFV South East League Fixture.. This is a 16 round home & away season with match day on Sunday 3pm and are training together with reserves twice a week. U18’s play 11 a side on full pitch. Selected players will get the opportunity during the season to play for the reserves who compete in Provisional 2 in 2010. Fees are $250.- which includes a Club top and end of season trophy presentation. Shorts & socks are $25.- Register now as places are limited.
