Argonauts Appoint New Senior Coach
Bayside Argonauts are delighted to announce the appointment of Ike Alogiozidis as Senior Coach for the 2010 season. In what can only be described as major coup for Bayside Argonauts, Alogiozidis brings a wealth of experience to our club, having played in the Greek First Division with Serres, the former National Soccer League with South Melbourne and Heidelberg and in the Victorian Premier League with Oakleigh Cannons and Bentleigh Greens, winning a host of individual and team honours along the way.
Alogiozidis has also enjoyed success as a senior coach in the Victorian State and Premier Leagues winning both championships and promotions. He is noted for his ability to build and develop playing squads capable of achieving success.
Alogiozidis has been a long term follower of Bayside Argonauts FC and has been most impressed with the squad that Arthur Kourtis has assembled and looks forward to building on the solid foundations set.
Due to increased work commitments Arthur Kourtis will be stepping aside from the senior coaching role in 2010. The contribution made by Arthur can not be underestimated – he led the Bayside Argonauts to 3rd spot in 2008 and promotion in 2009 and developed a style of play focussed on commitment and competitiveness. Kourtis was instrumental in developing the club from a mid table metropolitan league team to a force in the provisional league. Arthur will still remain involved at the club in a specialist coaching role to help further develop our playing list.
Danny Graces has been reappointed for his 5th season as Reserves coach in 2010 and will continue to develop the next generation of senior footballers for Bayside Argonauts FC.
The above appointments clearly demonstrate that the Argonauts will again be aggressive in seeking promotion in 2010 and is also in line with our overall strategy to continue to attract and retain quality people to our club, which will ultimately lead to further success.
